I can’t begin to express how honored I was to be part of Tina + Shawn’s vow renewal at Downtown Grand with the fabulous organization Wish Upon a Wedding. Tina and Shawn were originally married in 2002, blending their lives and 3 children from previous marriages to form a loving family. They added 4 more children of their own and then there were 9. Now, 15 years later, they are facing new challenges. Tina was diagnosed with late stage liver disease and given only six months to live. The day they received the news, Shawn took Tina by the hand and couldn’t take his eyes off of her. The two decided to renew their vows and express their unfaltering love for each other in front of their family and friends.
Their event took place at the gorgeous Downtown Grand property near Fremont Street in Las Vegas, NV. It’s an edgy, modern venue with an amazing rooftop pool perfect for a wedding ceremony. The couple got ready in separate rooms, did a first look in the hotel’s bridge, and portraits around the exterior of the venue. During the ceremony, the couple exchanged vows once again and each of their children helped pour colorful sand into a vase to create a beautiful family heirloom. After the ceremony, we did some rooftop portraits with the couple and then watched them dance the night away at their beautifully decorated ballroom reception. The wish grantors involved in this wedding truly inspired me with their kindness and generosity. I love that I was part of creating a special memory for Tina and Shawn, a truly deserving couple.
