Chris and Rebecca live in Alaska and brought their closest family and friends together in Las Vegas for an intimate wedding at the beautiful Springs Preserve. I loved their story… They are both part of a Shakespearean theater company – Rebecca is an actress and Chris is a theater tech. They had actually dated years before and then reunited, loving each other more than ever and choosing to spend their lives together. They share the same passions and definitely have an amazing bond. One of their best friends actually traveled with them from Alaska and officiated the wedding, adding to its meaningfulness. To exchange vows, the couple moved under the hanging vines in the garden arboretum, and asked their guests to surround them in a circle. It was a sweet gesture to include the most important people in their lives in the most important moment in their lives.
After the ceremony, we did portraits around the Springs Preserve in the gardens area and with the wooden docks. There are so many absolutely stunning places to do portraits at the Preserve – countless options for whatever nature-y look the couple wants. Rebecca’s feathery dress and birdcage veil were just timeless and I loved the portraits with her dramatic look. When the bride and groom entered the reception, they went straight into their first dance, and Rebecca gave a heartfelt speech about her surprise at finding herself in love again, and realizing Chris was the one for her. During dinner, their guests decided they didn’t want to be so far apart from Chris and Rebecca, and scooted all their chairs and tables over by the newlyweds. This really was a group of people from all over the country that consider themselves as close as family, and that makes for my favorite type of photos – emotional, happy, real moments. Thank you for allowing me to capture your moments and congratulations, Chris + Rebecca!
