Melisa + Max were married on a beautiful May day at the always impressive Springs Preserve. Before the ceremony I spent some time with both the girls and the guys, getting images of the joy, anticipation, nervousness and elation that brides and grooms experience before they walk down the aisle. Melisa’s dress was beaded and buttoned for a high-class, old school glamor look, and was perfectly matched by Max’s gray tailored suit complete with pocket squares and cufflinks. We did a first look by the rotunda so the couple could have some moments of peace and togetherness before the party began, then did family portraits inside the rotunda.
Their ceremony was at the Gardens Arboretum and their reception was in the beautiful Garden Terrace, where guests could dine, drink and dance the night away on the patio with a spectacular view of the park and the city. The blue and white theme matched the light, airy look of the Springs Preserve gardens and rooms, and added a simple sophistication to the event. I loved the personal details that they included in their reception, including assigning each table a song that had a personal meaning for them, then releasing the tables to eat by having the DJ play those songs. Their favors included a personalized CD for each guest with the songs they had chosen. When the dancing started, the DJ had all the girls dance with the bride, then all the guys dance with the groom, which resulted in some heartwarming and out-right hilarious moments.
These two form a super cool, foodie couple that laughs together, cherishes their friends and family, and loves to eat and drink. Coincidentally, those are all of my favorite things as well! We got along wonderfully and I felt honored to be included in the close knit group they celebrated with on their wedding day. Congratulations Melisa + Max!
